DESCRIPTION:November 1st – 3rd\, Newport\, Mulranny and Ballycroy areas \nIn 2016\, Mayo’s Ballycroy/Wild Nephin National Park became Ireland’s first Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park was recognised by the International Dark Sky Association. A Gold Tier classification is an honour reserved for the most exceptional of dark skies and breathtaking nightscapes. \nThe annual Mayo Dark Sky Festival has been set up in honour of this glittering accolade. \nTaking place in Newport\, Mulranny and Ballycroy from November 1-3\, this year’s festival will include a galaxy of talks\, walks\, exhibitions\, workshops and stargazing\, and a host of family friendly events.
